Our client is a leading international company.

The purpose of the Global Customs and Excise Manager is to ensure quality handling of all C&E matters globally in line with the local legislation and global/regional priorities.

Opportunity to build on Customs and Excise experience within a leading company

· Tax risk management in the area of Customs and Excise including the implementation of transactions checks and analysis
· Specific implementation of controls with regard to non-preferential and preferential origin management (including
controls and documentation of certificates of origin) as well as management of products affected by trade defence
measures
· Specific implementation of controls with regard to customs classification of commodities traded by the group
· Standardisation and overview of The client C&E local procedures and controls in locations owned by the group

· Liaise with the IT development team to enhance C&E aspects within the Group's IT environment

· Assist tax team in the review of third party C&E profile and licenses
· Liaise with tax colleagues with regard to customs valuation affecting transfer pricing between related companies
· Maintaining relationship with tax and other relevant authorities and representation of the company before
customs and tax offices, including preparation and support for audits;
· Support provided to regional and global management teams, also with regard to the C&E aspects of acquisition
projects carried out by the Corporate Finance team, when needed;
· Prepare tax (accounting) position papers so that relevant tax provisions can be discussed between Tax and
Corporate Control in relation to C&E risks. These papers serve as documentation for external auditors and thus
require high level of detail and tax technical reasoning.
· Develop and carry out tax training and raising awareness on the C&E function and risks

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Tax, Law or Economics



Approximately 5 to 7 years working experience in customs and excise matters in industry and/or Big 4



Able to work independently and to deal with all levels of management and external contacts

Excellent communication and judgement skills;



Team player and strong analytical skills;



Hands-on mentality and service-orientated;



Genuine computer skills;



Fluent spoken and written English; any other language an advantage.
